KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team went toe-to-toe with 25^th-ranked Truman State University for better than 50 minutes before giving way to a 3-0 loss Sunday afternoon in Kirksville, Missouri. USI falls to 4-3-0, 1-3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Truman goes to 5-0-1, 4-0-0 GLVC.
 
After a scoreless first half, the Screaming Eagles' defense gave way to a pair of second half Bulldog goals. Truman scored the eventual game-winner at 56:55 before posting insurance goals at 69:04 and 87:48
 
Overall, Truman out shot USI, 15-11, and had the advantage in corner kicks, 5-1.
 
USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field September 23 at 5 p.m. when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The short two-match home weekend concludes September 25 at noon when the Eagles welcome Lewis University to Evansville.
