EVANSVILLE, Ind.---The University of Southern Indiana softball team returns to USI Softball Field with four conference contests this weekend after a few schedule changes.

USI's doubleheaders with Lewis University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday and Sunday have been moved to USI Softball Field. The Screaming Eagles are scheduled to host the Lewis Flyers in a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday before taking on the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers at noon and 2 p.m. at USI Softball Field.

Hodges named GLVC Player of the WeekUSI junior
Haley Hodges was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday. Hodges hit .692, while tallying three homeruns, a double, nine hits, four runs, nine runs batted in, and six intentional walks to lead the Screaming Eagles to a 3-3 record, including a victory over #1 ranked and then undefeated University of Indianapolis.
Home Sweet HomeThe Eagles are 26-12 on the season and 14-4 in the GLVC, while holding a 15-1 record at USI Softball Field. The Eagles have won 25 of their last 26 contests at home.

State of the Conference USI currently sits in a tie for third in the GLVC with a 14-4 conference record along with Maryville University and Truman State University. #1 ranked University of Indianapolis leads the GLVC with a 17-1 conference record, while the University of Missouri-St. Louis sits in second with a 15-3 GLVC mark.

Haley Hodges is on pace to break the single-season records for RBIs and home runs at USI. Hodges has 14 home runs, 50 RBIs, and 35 runs through 38 games this season with 16 contests still left on the regular season schedule. Fellow juniorÂ

Speaking StatisticallyThe Eagles rank in the top 50 as a team in four statistical categories. USI ranks second in the nation and first in the GLVC in double plays per game with 0.63 per contest. Offensively, the Eagles rank 26th in the nation and second in the GLVC in doubles per game, 27th in the country and third in the GLVC in home runs per game, and 40th in in the nation and third in the conference in slugging percentage.
