EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team (15-8, 7-6 GLVC) celebrates 2016 Homecoming Week with a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference match-ups this weekend at the Physical Activities Center. The Screaming Eagles are slated to host Maryville University (8-15, 2-11 GLVC) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. while the Homecoming game features the University of Missouri-St. Louis (10-12, 4-9 GLVC) Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
In addition to Homecoming on Saturday, Thursday's Maryville-USI game is Heart Health Night, sponsored by Deaconess Hospital, at the PAC. Fans are encouraged to wear red to show their support for the fight against heart disease. USI players will be wearing red shoe laces, while Head Coach
Rodney Watson will be wearing red shoes.
On Saturday, in conjunction with Homecoming, USI Women's Basketball is hosting its annual "Play for Kay" game. USI fans are urged to wear pink in support of the fight against breast cancer.

This Week's USI Men's Basketball Quick Notes: USI splits trips, but gets back on track. The University of Southern Indiana split its road trip over the weekend, falling at Drury, 75-62, and broke a four-game road losing streak with a win at Missouri University of Science & Technology, 94-87.
USI race to the GLVC Tournament. USI can clinch a first round home game in the upcoming GLVC Tournament with a pair of victories this week. The GLVC Tournament is slated to start February 28 with first games at home sites and conclude March 3-6 in St. Charles, Missouri.
Stein strikes for season-highs at Missouri S&T. Freshman guard
Alex Stein led way for USI to get on track with the win over Missouri S&T with a season-high 26 points. Stein, who averaged a team-best 17.0 point per game during the road trip, also tied a season-high with four three-point field goals.

USI vs. Maryville. USI is looking for payback after Maryville University defeated the Eagles in the GLVC Tournament first round last March in overtime, 72-71. The Eagles lead the series, 8-1, 6-1 at the PAC since 2000. USI took the regular season contest, 64-62, in St. Louis.
Maryville in 2015-16. The Saints of Maryville are 8-15 overall, 2-11 in the GLVC, after dropping a pair of conference games last week and have lost nine of 10. More on Maryville can be found at

USI vs. UMSL. USI leads the all-time series with the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 34-11, and at the PAC, 11-0, since 2000. The Eagles took the only meeting last year, 76-69, in St. Louis, Missouri.
UMSL in 2015-16. The Tritons of UMSL, who visit Bellarmine University Thursday before visiting USI, are 10-12 overall, 4-9 in the GLVC, after winning a pair at home last weekend.
