EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team was overwhelmed by Rockhurst University, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI saw its record fall to 7-6-0 overall and 4-6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Rockhurst goes to 10-1-2, 7-1-2 GLVC.
The Screaming Eagles fell behind in the opening half and trailed, 3-0, by the intermission. Rockhurst scored at the 6:58, 26:57, and 41:00 mark of the opening 45 minutes.
In the second half, USI continued to struggle to get into gear as Rockhurst outshot the Eagles, 12-0, and added an insurance goal at 87:16 for the 4-0 final. The Hawk finished the match with a 20-1 lead in shots.
Following Sunday's match with Rockhurst, the Eagles hit the road for three-straight matches. USI will travel to Drury University October 14; Missouri University of Science & Technology October 16; and McKendree University October 21 on the longest road trip of the year.
