EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana women's soccer team kicks off the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a split weekend, beginning Friday on the road at the University of Illinois Springfield and ending Sunday with the home opener versus McKendree University. The Screaming Eagles are slated to start at Illinois Springfield at noon Friday, while the kick off Sunday at Strassweg Field is scheduled for noon Sunday.

Week 2 Eagle Notes: Unbeaten start to 2015. USI started 2015 in dramatic fashion with a 1-0-1 opening weekend, winning in overtime versus Northwood University, 1-0, and battling back to tie at the University of Findlay, 2-2, in double-overtime. USI freshman forward
Ryley Hancock (Evansville, Indiana) scored her first collegiate goal and USI's first of the season in the win over Northwood, while freshman midfielder
Carissa Dyer (Crescent Springs, Kentucky) posted her first goal and senior forward
Madi Vellky (Dublin, Ohio) recorded the equalizer in the tie with Findlay.
Winning Ways: The Eagles have posted winning records five of the last six seasons and appeared in four of the last six GLVC Tournaments.
Good start to the road schedule. USI, which was 2-3-1 on the road last fall, started 2015 a half game better with a win and a tie.
Engelbrecht begins her 13th year. USI Head Coach Kristy Engelbrecht has a 90-109-18 overall record at USI, but is 53-46-6 in her last six-plus seasons.
USI and Illinois Springfield. The Eagles are 5-0-1 versus the Prairie Stars since the two programs started play in 2007. The two teams battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie last season in Springfield, Illinois. USI also holds a 2-0-1 lead in the series in Springfield.
Illinois Springfield in 2015. The Prairie Stars have begun 2015 with an 0-2-0 mark after a 2-1 overtime loss to the University of Saint Francis and a 2-1 loss to Saint Xavier University.
USI and McKendree. USI and McKendree are tied in the all-time series, 5-5-1, after the Bearcats defeated the Eagles at Strassweg Field last year, 1-0. The Eagles hold a 3-2-0 lead in the series at Strassweg Field.
McKendree in 2015. The Bearcats started 2015 with a 1-0-1 mark after tying the University of North Alabama, 2-2, in double-overtime at home and defeating Union University on the road, 2-0.
