FINDLAY, Ohio. – University of Southern Indiana freshman forward
Ryley Hancock (Evansville, Indiana) made her first collegiate goal a memorable one by scoring in overtime to lift the Screaming Eagles to a 1-0 victory over Northwood University Friday afternoon in Findlay, Ohio. USI starts the year 1-0-0 and concludes its opening weekend visit to Findlay, Ohio, Sunday at 11 a.m. (CDT) when it plays the University of Findlay.
Hancock finished off a deflection in the Northwood box for the game-winning goal with 5:04 left in the overtime period. The freshman forward was assisted on the play by senior forward

Emma Luczkowski (Westfield, Indiana).

Emily Hopkins (Greenfield, Indiana) posted her first collegiate win and shutout in the victory. Hopkins made two saves and faced four shots in the shutout.
Sunday's action against Findlay concludes the short non-conference slate for the Eagles, who start Great Lakes Valley Conference action September 11 when they visit the University of Illinois Springfield. USI opens its 2015 home schedule September 13 when it hosts McKendree University for a noon match at Strassweg Field.
