Big turnaround:
After earning a trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2013, the Eagles struggled in 2014. USI finished the year with a 22-23 record and a 12-22 GLVC mark. USI, which lost 11 of its last 14 games in 2014, lost 13 games by two runs or less, including 10 games by one run.

USI earns highest ranking:
The Eagles earned their highest national ranking in program history this week. USI jumped two spots to No. 13 in the latest NFCA Division II Coaches' poll and is one of three GLVC teams to be ranked this week. Missouri-St. Louis jumped a spot to No. 2, while Indianapolis fell a spot to No. 10. USI's previous best in the national poll was No. 14 in 1998.

Eagles looking for fourth GLVC title:
USI is looking for its fourth GLVC title and first since 1998. The Eagles also captured GLVC championships in 1993 and 1995.

Kunkle closing in on 400:
Head Coach Sue Kunkle is closing in on her 400th career win in her 14th season at the helm of the Eagles. Kunkle, who was the GLVC Coach of the Year in 2006, is 11 wins shy of 400 after starting the year with a 352-292-1 (.547) overall mark.

Dorsam, who led the GLVC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, and total bases, during the regular season, is tied for second all-time at USI in career home runs (24) and is third in career RBIs (126).

in a single season.

USI:
The Eagles already have hit more home runs (39) in a single season than any other team in program history. USI is seven RBIs shy of the program record (226), set in 1995, and is 26 runs away from the
