NOBLESVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team finished in a tie for 26th out of 31 teams at the Purgatory Regional #4, which was played Sunday and Monday at the Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Indiana.
Freshman
Preston Van Winkle (Santa Claus, Indiana) finished in a tie for 64th to lead the Screaming Eagles. Van Winkle carded an eight-over-par 152 after shooting a two-over 74 on Sunday and a 78 on Monday.
Senior
David Janney (Indianapolis, Indiana) posted USI's best second-round tally, shooting a 75 to finish with a 36-hole score of 153 and in a tie for 78th, while freshman
Trevor Grant (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) finished in a tie for 85th after posting scores of 75 and 79 for a two-day tally of 154.
The University of Indianapolis won the tournament, carding a seven-over-par 583 (295, 288), while Ferris State University's Ben Cook shot a three-under par 141 (70, 71) to tie Walsh University's Nick Paxos (68, 73) for the individual title.
USI returns to action April 19-21 when it competes at the GLVC Championship in Carmel, Indiana.
