The Eagles move up to No. 15 in NFCA poll


EVANSVILLE, Ind.---
The University of Southern Indiana softball team moved up one spot to No. 15 in the seventh installment of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll as it gets set for another pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheaders this weekend.

USI (23-3, 10-2 GLVC) opens the weekend with two against 11th-ranked University of Indianapolis Saturday at 11 a.m. (CDT) in Indianapolis. The Greyhounds (24-6, 11-1 overall) enter the week sporting an eight-game winning streak and will travel to Louisville, Kentucky to face Bellarmine University following its bout with the Eagles.
 
The Eagles were set to face the Pumas of Saint Joseph's Friday at Noon but due to inclement weather headed for the Rensselaer, Indiana, area, the doubleheader has been rescheduled to Easter Sunday at Noon and 2 p.m. Saint Joseph's is coming off a two-game drop to the Greyhounds and are 5-7 in conference play, 12-14 overall.

USI, who went a perfect 4-0 last weekend, is one of three GLVC schools in this week's poll. The University of Missouri-St. Louis maintained its No. 3 spot, while Indianapolis moved up one in the No. 11 hole.
 
The Eagles are off to their best 26-game start in program history and has achieved its highest ranking since finishing the 1998 season at No. 14.
