EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville rallied from a two-point deficit to defeat the University of Southern Indiana men's golf team, 9-7, Sunday in an exhibition match at Oak Meadow Country Club.

After gaining a 5-3 lead in Saturday's two-man, best-ball match, the Screaming Eagles saw the Purple Aces reel off six wins in eight individual matches to earn the two-point victory.

Juniors Tanner Mandel (Evansville, Indiana) and Zach Thomas (Evansville, Indiana) each had wins for the Eagles on Sunday. Mandel edged UE's Juan Acosta by two strokes as he shot an 85, while Thomas shot an 80 to defeat UE's Rock Voyvodic by a two-stroke margin.

Of USI's six losses Sunday, three of the defeats came by three strokes or less. Senior David Janney (Indianapolis, Indiana) fell to UE's Jon Pick by three strokes after shooting 83, while freshmen Kyle Tanriverdi (Pewaukee, Wisconsin) and Trevor Grant (Mt. Grant had the Eagles' low round of the day, shooting a 79 in his two-stroke loss to UE's Alex Turner. Tanriverdi shot 84 in his two-stroke setback to UE's Tyler Gray.

USI gained its 5-3 lead over the Aces on Saturday as it won two of the four best-ball matches while pushing to an even draw in another. Each of the four matches Saturday was worth two points, while Sunday's matches were worth one point each.
