DANVILLE, Ark. --- The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team finished 18th in the 19-team field of the The Dave Falconer in Danville, Arkansas. The tournament was played at Chamberlyne Country Club and hosted by Arkansas Tech University.
The Screaming Eagles recorded a two-day total of 627 (322-305), 43 strokes off the pace set by the tournament-winning Washburn University. Washburn (300-284) won the tournament by a 7-stroke margin over Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
The Eagles were led by freshman
Preston Van Winkle, who finished in a tie for 45th with a 152 (79-73). Van Winkle was followed on the team by fellow freshman
Trevor Grant, who tied for 67th with a 156 (82-74).
USI will next compete in the Trevecca Spring Invitational March 23-24 at Old Hickory Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
