EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team opens post-season action in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament when it hosts Maryville University Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Physical Activities Center. USI enters the league's post-season as the sixth seed, while Maryville comes to the PAC as the 11th seed.
 
Tickets for the GLVC Tournament first round game are included in USI's season ticket package and also can be purchased for $10 in the USI Ticket Office Friday or one hour prior to the game on Sunday. USI Men's Basketball GLVC Tournament Notes:
 
USI finished strong in 2014-15. The University of Southern Indiana finished strong in 2014-15, winning seven of the last eight games, including a season-best seven game winning streak. The Screaming Eagles rebounded after a rough January that saw them post a 6-5 mark.
 
Eagles fall to Bellarmine in season-finale. The Eagles lost their season finale, 67-54, to second-ranked Bellarmine University Thursday evening in Louisville, Kentucky. USI had trouble offensively, hitting only 27.4 percent from the field (20-73). Senior guard Gavin Schumann led the Eagles with 13 points, while junior forward George Edwards grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds, one off his season-best.
 
Eagles still looking for number 20. The Eagles are still looking to reach the 20-win plateau for the seventh-straight year and the 22^nd time in the last 23 years when they play in the first round of the GLVC Tournament Sunday.
 
USI individually in 2014-15. Senior guard Gavin Schumann leads four Eagles in double-digit scoring with 17.5 points per contest. Senior guard TeNale Roland and junior forward George Edwards follow with 13.2 points per outing each, while sophomore guard Bobo Drummond rounds out the double-figure scoring with 10.1 points per contest. Edwards also leads USI on the glass with 7.8 rebounds per game off the bench.
 
USI and Rodney Watson in the GLVC Tournament. USI Head Coach Rodney Watson has led the Eagles to two GLVC championships (2012, 2014) and four-straight GLVC Tournament championship games (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) since taking the helm in 2009-10. USI also is 12-2 in the GLVC Tournament under Watson.
 
USI at the PAC in the GLVC Tournament. USI is 4-1 in GLVC Tournament games at the Physical Activities Center. The Eagles started the 2014 march to the conference title with an 86-78 win over Maryville University at the PAC.
 
Seeding in the GLVC Tournament. USI has started the GLVC Tournament as the sixth seed the last two seasons. The best seeding for the Eagles since the league went to a 12-team tournament was second in 2011. The Eagles won the 2012 and 2014 conference titles after being the fifth and sixth seed, respectively.
 
USI versus the GLVC in 2014-15. USI was 12-6 in the GLVC in 2014-15, going 9-5 against the conference tournament field this year. Senior guard Gavin Schumann led USI in GLVC contests this season with 16.4 points per contest, while senior guard TeNale Roland followed with 12.9 points per outing. Schumann also is averaging 15.1 point per contest against the GLVC Tournament field in 2014-15.
 
Maryville in 2014-15. The Saints of Maryville enter the GLVC Tournament as the 11^th seed after posting an 11-16 overall record and a 6-12 mark in the league. USI vs. Maryville. The Eagles lead the all-time series, 8-0, after winning the regular season meeting, 64-62, in a game that went down to the final minute in St. Louis, Missouri. USI has won all six games against the Saints at the PAC.
 
When USI won the GLVC titles in 2012 and 2014. USI won a first round GLVC Tournament game against Maryville in 2012 and 2014 as it traveled the road to the conference championships in two of the last three years.
