EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team finishes the 2014-15 schedule against the GLVC West Division when it visits the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday and Maryville University on Saturday. Tip off Thursday versus UMSL is 7:30 p.m., while the start time Maryville is 3 p.m.

USI Men's Basketball Notes versus UMSL and Maryville: USI celebrates Homecoming with homestand sweep. The University of Southern Indiana celebrated Homecoming week with a homestand sweep. The Screaming Eagles started the week with a 68-62 victory over Quincy University and completed the week with an 81-70 win over Truman State University on Homecoming day.

Austin Davis led the Eagles last week with 20.5 and 13.0 points per game. Drummond, who posted a season-best 23 points in the win over Truman State, hit seven three-point field goals in the two games, while Davis dropped in five long range shots and tied a career-high with eight rebounds in each game.

USI in the GLVC. USI is currently in fifth in the GLVC East Division and in a four-way tie for fifth overall in the race for seeding in the GLVC Tournament. The Screaming Eagles also are three games back of the fourth spot that would give USI a first-round bye.
Overcoming deficits. USI has overcome four double-digit deficits this year to claim victories. The Eagles climbed out of 10-point holes against Shorter University and Truman State and rallied from 11 points down against Lewis University. The largest comeback of the year was erasing a 13-point deficit against Cedarville University.
UMSL in 2014-15. The Tritons of the University of Missouri-St. Louis are tied for second in the GLVC West at 16-7 overall, 8-5 in the conference. UMSL is 2-3 in the last five games and stopped a two-game skid after defeating at Saint Joseph's College, 66-62. For more on UMSL, visit

USI vs. UMSL. The Eagles lead the all-time series, 33-11, after winning at the PAC last year, 75-58. USI also leads the series when playing at UMSL, 9-2, since 2000.
Maryville in 2014-15. The Saints of Maryville starts the week in a three-way tie for fourth in the GLVC West at 10-12 overall and 5-8 in the league. USI took the regular season meeting, 64-61, and the GLVC Tournament first round match-up, 86-78, at the PAC.
