EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Basketball returns to action and concludes its 2015-16 non-conference slate Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Purdue University North Central at the Physical Activities Center. USI enters the final contest of the 2015 calendar year with a 9-2 overall record, 7-2 in non-Great Lakes Valley Conference action, and is riding a five-game winning streak. PNC enters Wednesday's match with a 10-6 mark and has won its last three games.

The Screaming Eagles resumes GLVC-play after New Year's when they travel to Rockhurst University January 7 and William Jewell College January 9.

USI Game Notes vs. PNC:


Eagles win 5th-straight with win over Spalding.  USI ran its winning streak to five-straight with an 84-55 victory over Spalding University before Christmas. Senior forward George Edwards led the Eagles with 20 points, while junior guard Jeril Taylor followed with 18 points. The Screaming Eagles shot 57.4 percent (35 -61), their second best game of the year from the field.

During the winning streak. USI is averaging 87.4 points per game during the winning streak, outscoring the opponents by 26 points, and is outrebounding the opposition, 43.6-27.4 per game. Junior guard Jeril Taylor leads the Eagles during the winning streak with 14.6 poins per game, while senior forward George Edwards follows with 13.4 points per outing.

Four in double-digits to start the year. USI has four players averaging in double-digit to start the 2015-16 campaign. Junior guard Jeril Taylor and freshman guard Alex Stein are currently on top of the USI scoring column with 15.5 and 14.1 points per game, respectively, while senior forward George Edwards is third with 13.6 points per contest and junior guard Bobo Drummond rounds out the double-digit scorers with 12.0 points per outing.

Seniour blasting from long range. Senior forward Shane Seniour has found the touch from long range this year, hitting 10-of-18 three-point field (55.6 percent) after missing all three attempts last year.

At home in 2015-16. USI is 6-1 at the Physical Activities Center in 2015-16 and is outscoring the opposition by 15.0 points, 91.6-76.6 points per game. Junior guard Jeril Taylor leads the Eagles at home with 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.

Non-conference foes have tough going against USI. USI is 7-2 so far in the 2015-16 non-conference slate and is 198-24 (.892) against non-GLVC teams during the last 23 seasons. Of the 24 losses, two have come in the NCAA Division II Tournament Finals and three in the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional. USI also has won 50-straight non-conference games at the PAC since losing to Northwest Missouri State University in 2007-08.

USI in 2015. In the 2015 calendar year, USI is 21-9 since January 1.

USI vs. Purdue North Central. USI leads the all-time series with Purdue University North Central, 2-0, and will be playing the Panthers for the first time since 1973- 74. The Eagles won the last battle, 100-77, at home during the 1973-74 season.
