EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Basketball begins the 2015-16 regular-season campaign November 13-14 in the D2 Vegas Showdown in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Screaming Eagles are slated to play the University of Findlay Friday at 8:30 p.m. (CST) and Lake Superior State University Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (CST).

USI Men's Basketball at the D2 Vegas Showdown Quick Notes: Eagles had strong showing, but fall short in exhibition. USI played well in its only exhibition game, but fell at Illinois State University, 88-81. USI making 5th trip to Las Vegas. USI is making its fifth trip to play in a regular-season tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Eagles are 6-2 in neutral site games in Las Vegas, posting a split in their last trip in the 2002-03 season.
Midwest competition out West. USI's opponents in Las Vegas are from the NCAA II Midwest Region. The Eagles take on the University of Findlay Friday in the third meeting of the series, the second on a neutral court, while they play Lake Superior State University Saturday in the first meeting of the series.
First trip to Vegas propelled the Eagles to a national title . USI's first trip to Las Vegas in December of 1994 began a 14-game winning streak for the Eagles in a season that resulted in the team's only national championship in 1995. The first trip included a win over Cameron University and a thrilling overtime victory over Washburn University. In the overtime win over Washburn, USI was down to five players (two with four fouls) as six Eagles had fouled out.
USI vs. Findlay. USI and Findlay are tied 1-1 in the all-time series with the Oilers taking the last meeting at home in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in Findlay Ohio, in 2009. The Eagles took the first meeting in the 2004 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional at Lewis University, 75-67.
Findlay in 2015-16. The Oilers of Findlay are forecast to finish second in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division. Findlay was 16-11 overall a year ago, 13-9, in the GLIAC.
USI vs. Lake Superior State. USI and Lake Superior State will be meeting for the first time in the history of the two men's basketball programs.
Lake Superior in 2015-16. The Lakers of LSSU are predicted to place third in the GLIAC North Division. LSSU won the North Division a year ago with an 18-4 conference record, while earning a trip to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional with a 26-7 overall mark.
