Weather forces softball cancellation

WINTER HAVEN, Fla.---The University of Southern Indiana softball team led Northern State University 3-0 before rain forced a nearly three-hour delay.

After the break, the Screaming Eagles tallied one more run off junior MacKenzi Dorsam's (Dubois, Indiana) homerun to center field, but the rain came down again, forcing officials to cancel day two of the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, Florida.

Following USI's matchup against Northern State, the Eagles were scheduled to take on Minnesota State University-Mankato.

The Eagles will pick up again tomorrow at 8 a.m. (CDT) against regional opponent Ferris State University, before closing out against Southwest Minnesota State University at noon.

Live stats for tomorrow's games will be available at gousieagles.com.
