EVANSVILLE, Ind.--- The University of Southern Indiana softball team opens the 2014 season this weekend at the
Charger Chillout in Huntsville, Alabama.
USI begins the two-day, four-game classic Friday at 10 a.m. when it takes on Georgia Regents University Augusta. The Screaming Eagles conclude the opening day at Noon when they play St. Edward's University.
The Eagles face regional foe Northwood University (MI), Saturday at 10 a.m. before closing out their appearance at the tournament with Young Harris College at Noon.
USI, which completed the 2013 campaign at 30-22 overall, 17-15 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, returns all of its starters and 12 letter winners.
Following the Charger Chillout, the Eagles open their 28-game home schedule February 22-23 when they host the USI Spring Classic at the USI Softball Field.
