EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team allowed nine runs in the third inning and lost the series finale to sixth-ranked Grand Valley State University, 12-6, Sunday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. USI falls to 2-4 mark, while GVSU goes to 2-1.
GVSU took the early lead with two runs in the first inning. USI cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the inning when sophomore rightfielder

The score would remain 2-1 until the third inning when the Lakers sent 15 batters to the plate off of four USI hurlers, producing nine runs and the margin of victory. The Eagles tried to claw their way back into the game with a tally in the third and sixth and three more in the eighth, but left 11 runners on base in suffering the 12-6 loss.
