SOUTHHAVEN, Miss. – The University of Southern Indiana men's golf team placed fifth in the nine team field at The BUC at North Creek Golf Course in Southhaven, Miss. The two day, three round tournament was hosted by Christian Brothers University.
 
The Screaming Eagles finished play with a three round 881 (290-295-296), 21 strokes off the pace set by tournament-winner Christian Brothers. USI sat in a tie for fourth after the first two rounds before dropping out of the tie on the second day.
  
USI was led by a pair of freshman in Preston Van Winkle (Santa Claus, Indiana) and Trevor Grant (Mt. Vernon, Indiana), who both earned top ten finishes. Van Winkle posted a 213 (70-69-74) and finished in a tie for fifth, while Grant stayed consistent all tournament, finishing in a tie for seventh with a three-round 216 (72-72-72).
 
The next action for the Eagles will be October 13-14 in the Midwest Fall Regional #2 at Fox Run Country Club in Eureka, Missouri.
