EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team continues its search for a berth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament when it travels west for a pair of league games. USI starts the western swing Friday at 7:30 p.m. when it visits 18th-ranked Drury University before completing the road trip Sunday at 2:30 p.m. when it travels to Missouri University of Science & Technology.

Week 7 Eagle Notes: Eagles post a 1-0-1 homestand last week. USI (5-5-2, 4-4-2 GLVC) reached the .500 mark for just the second time this season with a 1-0-1 homestand. USI started the homestand with a 2-0 victory over William Jewell College, the first in the history of the series, and completed the weekend with a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Rockhurst University. Riley Belding (Columbus, Indiana) led the way for the Eagles with three points each on one goal and one assist. Belding's goal versus William Jewell was his first as a collegiate.
USI looking to surpass .500. The Eagles are shooting to surpass the .500 mark for the second time this season when they play 18
th-ranked Drury on Friday. USI has not been above .500 since the opening season win over Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Eagles in the GLVC. USI took control of seventh in the GLVC last weekend, one-and-a-half games back of sixth-place University of Indianapolis and a half-game ahead of eighth-place Truman State University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The top eight teams in the GLVC advance to the league's post-season tournament.

Josh Weinzapfel (Evansville, Indiana) leads the USI offensive attack this year with nine points on a team-high three goals and a team-best three assists. Weinzapfel also has a pair of game-winning goals (vs. Lewis and vs. William Jewell) and has assisted on a game-winning goal (vs. Maryville University). Sophomore forward

Auston Bruder (Evansville, Indiana) has led the Eagles through the 12 games. Bruder has a 1.02 GAA overall in 1060 minutes of action, making 41 saves.

Mat Santoro has a 43-48-8 overall record at USI, but is 23-19-5 in the last three seasons.
Eagles hope to get GLVC-best 11th conference title in 2014. USI has a GLVC-best 10 conference championships in men's soccer since 1979. The Eagles also are looking for their first league title since 1991.
USI looks to ends Drury's streak. The Eagles looks to end its three-game losing streak to the Panthers of Drury (10-2-0, 8-2-0 GLVC). Drury holds an 9-1-1 all-time series lead over USI, which posted a win over the Panthers, 1-0, in 2010.
Eagles hopes to "score" versus Missouri S&T. USI travels to play Missouri S&T (4-6-2, 3-5-2 GLVC) looking for its first win and goal over the Miners since 2007. Missouri S&T leads the all-time series, 13-9-2, and has won nine of the last 11 meetings with USI.
