EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team had its Senior Day hopes crushed in overtime by Quincy University, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at Strassweg Field. USI falls to 6-7-3 overall, and moves to 5-7-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while conference-leading Quincy rises to 13-4-0 overall and 12-2-0 GLVC.

In the match, the Eagles took the early lead when Dugger scored off a slip pass from Durham to give USI a 1-0 lead 9:52 into the match. The goal was Dugger's team-best sixth of the year.
Quincy responded with a pair of goals before halftime, knotting the match, 1-1, at 26:37 and taking the lead, 2-1, at 39:57. The Hawks extended the lead to 3-1 in the second half with a goal at 57:07.
USI mounted a comeback in the final 20 minutes of regulation, tying the score, 3-3, and forcing overtime. The Eagles cut the two-goal deficit in half, 3-2, when Jenison scored his third goal of the year and the second of the weekend off a slick pass from freshman forward

Junior midfielder
Carlos Mayser (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) knotted the match, 3-3, for USI less than a minute later when he converted on a penalty kick at 72:20. Quincy rebounded and had a chance to win the match in regulation with a penalty kick of its own, but Neidlinger made dramatic save of the shot by the Hawks' Steve McAnany with 12 minutes to play to set the stage for overtime.
The Hawks came out firing in the overtime with three shots in less than two minutes, converting on the third for the game-winner at 93:46.
USI concludes the 2013 regular season Wednesday when it travels to Bellarmine University for a 5:30 p.m. (CDT) contest. The Knights saw their record go to 8-4-4 overall and 6-4-4 in the GLVC after tying the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1-1, at home this afternoon.
The Eagles lead the all-time series with the Knights, 21-13-1, after splitting last year's contests. USI lost the regular season match at Strassweg Field, 1-0, but won the GLVC Tournament match-up, 2-1, in Louisville, Kentucky. Bellarmine has won three of the last four match-ups with USI, two games going to overtime.
