SOMERS, Wis.—Sophomore outside hitter Lauren DeShaney had 11 kills and a .529 attacking percentage to help lead the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team to a 25-23, 25-22, 25-22 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Friday night.

USI (6-7, 4-0 GLVC) overcame a five-point deficit in the opening set and a four-point deficit in the second frame to build a 2-0 lead in the match. The Screaming Eagles used a late 5-0 spurt to earn a two-point win the first game and a late 4-0 push to earn a three-point win in the second stanza.

DeShaney's attacks in the first and second sets resulted in the Eagles' final two points in both frames as USI built a commanding two-game advantage.

The Eagles used an 8-1 rally to overcome a seven-point deficit in the third set. They had a 5-1 spurt later in the frame to pull in front; then capitalized on a pair of UW-Parkside errors to earn the final two points and complete the three-set sweep.

In addition to DeShaney, USI got six kills, a .444 attacking percentage, and three service aces from junior middle blocker Emily Diedrich. Junior setter Jorae Bradbury had 22 assists and nine digs as the Eagles earned their sixth straight win.

USI returns to action Saturday at 5 p.m. when it travels to Romeoville, Illinois, to take on Lewis University. The Flyers (7-6, 3-1 GLVC) defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College in four sets Friday night after recording a four-set victory over the University of Saint Francis (Illinois) earlier in the day.
