EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Volleyball senior outside hitter Ashby Willis is USI's Banterra Bank Student-Athlete of the Week. Willis is in her third season with the Screaming Eagles' volleyball team and is currently leading the Ohio Valley Conference with 3.97 kills per set.

A second-team All-OVC honoree in 2025, Willis got the job done both on the court and in the classroom, having been named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators last season. She also was named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll and earned the OVC Medal of Honor.

On the court, the Mt. Carmel, Illinois, native recently recorded her 1,000th career kill in a USI uniform and is working to becoming the sixth Screaming Eagle to reach the 1,000-kill and 1,000-dig plateau in their USI career. She currently has 911 digs during her three seasons at USI.

Willis, who is working on her degree in exercise science with a physical therapy concentration, transferred to USI after spending her freshman season at Purdue University Fort Wayne. She has 1,294 career kills and 1,084 career digs to go along with 150 career blocks.

USI Volleyball is home for the next four matches, beginning with an OVC tilt between the Screaming Eagles and Western Illinois University Friday at 6 p.m. at Liberty Arena, Home of the Screaming Eagles.
