Eagles 10th in regional rankings



EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team enters the final two weekends of the regular season ranked 10th in the NCAA II Midwest Region poll.

USI (23-17, 12-12 GLVC) is one of six Great Lakes Valley Conference teams in the first regional poll of the year and one of five teams from the GLVC East Division.

The GLVC East Division also is represented by the University of Indianapolis (1st), Bellarmine University (4th), Saint Joseph's College (5th), and Northern Kentucky University (6th). The GLVC West Division's University of Illinois Springfield is ranked seventh.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was represented by Ashland University (2nd), Grand Valley State University (3rd), Hillsdale College (8th), and The University of Findlay (9th).

USI begins a six-game road trip Saturday at 11 a.m. (CDT) when it travels to Highland Heights, Kentucky, to take on Northern Kentucky in a GLVC doubleheader. The Screaming Eagles visit Bellarmine Sunday at 11 a.m. for a doubleheader in Louisville, Kentucky, before ending its regular-season road slate April 18 at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
