CHARLESTON, Ill.—Juniors
Michael Callison and
Michael Jordan each recorded first-place finishes Friday to lead the University of Southern Indiana men's indoor track and field team at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special.
Callison won the 1,000 meters with a time of two minutes, 32.76 seconds, while Jordan captured the 5,000-meter title with an NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 37.52 seconds. Jordan's performance marks the third time during the indoor season he has recorded a provisional qualifying time in the 5,000 meters.
As a team, the Screaming Eagles had eight top-10 finishes, with junior
Michael Whitehead adding a fourth-place effort in the 1,000 meters and junior
Brendan Devine finishing sixth in the 5,000 meters.
USI returns to action February 24-25 when it competes at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Somers, Wisconsin.
