EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team opens its 2011 home schedule Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division rival Bellarmine University at the Physical Activities Center. USI also hosts No. 14 Northern Kentucky University Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Screaming Eagles (5-2, 3-0 GLVC), who have won three straight matches and five of their last six, are coming off a three-set victory over Kentucky Wesleyan College this past Tuesday.
Senior middle blocker
Danielle LaGrange, the reigning Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week, led USI with 10 kills, five blocks, and a .769 attacking percentage. Freshman outside hitter
Lauren DeShaney had nine kills, three blocks, and a .571 attacking percentage, while sophomore middle blocker
Emily Diedrich finished with eight kills, three blocks, and a .467 attacking percentage.
For the season, LaGrange is averaging a team-best 3.56 kills and 0.88 blocks per set and has a team-high .309 attacking percentage. She has hit .360 in USI's last six matches.
Friday's match with Bellarmine is a rematch from last year's five-set thriller that saw the Knights walk out of the PAC with a 3-2 victory. USI held a pair of one-set advantages, but Bellarmine rallied for a win in the fourth set and stunned the Eagles with a 27-25 victory in the fifth frame.
The Knights (5-2, 1-2 GLVC) are coming off a tough three-set loss at Northern Kentucky this past Tuesday. Sophomore outside hitter Krista Gibson, who leads the Knights with 3.50 kills per frame, had a team-best 10 kills in the loss to Northern Kentucky.
Northern Kentucky (8-0, 3-0 GLVC), which is tied with the Eagles atop the GLVC East Division standings, is led by senior middle blocker Kim Nemcek, who had 11 kills and a .556 attacking percentage in the Norse's victory over Bellarmine. Nemcek is averaging a team-best 3.42 kills and 0.77 blocks per set and has a team-leading .493 attacking percentage.
USI, which closes the regular season by visiting Bellarmine and Northern Kentucky in November, defeated the Norse in three sets in their only meeting last year at the PAC.
