SOMERS, Wis.—For the second consecutive match, the University of Southern Indiana volleyball team overcame a two-set deficit to grab victory from the clutches of defeat; this time rallying for a 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12 road victory over the University of Wisconsin-Parkisde in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division battle.

USI (4-2, 2-0 GLVC), which rallied from a two-set deficit to upset No. 14 Lewis University Friday night, found itself in a similar situation Saturday after the host Rangers attacked at a blistering .441 clip to grab a win in the first set before using three service aces and taking advantage of three USI serving errors to claim a victory in the second frame.

Like Friday night, Head Coach Leah Mercer made adjustments and went to the bench to find a spark. That spark came in the form of Wisconsin native and freshman outside hitter Lauren DeShaney, who had four kills in both the third and fourth sets as the Screaming Eagles came roaring back. She finished with nine kills and two aces.

Sophomore setter Jorae Bradbury also came off the bench, directing USI's attack to .235 hitting percentage in the final three sets, including a .391 clip in the decisive fifth frame. Bradbury finished the contest with a match-high 36 assists.

After rallying from a 20-17 deficit to win the third set and extend the match, USI came back from a late 22-20 deficit in the fourth game to even the contest and force a deciding fifth set. USI trailed 9-8 in the fifth stanza, but a 5-0 run allowed the Eagles to pull out the victory and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Senior middle blocker Danielle LaGrange led the Eagles with 17 kills and five blocks while attacking at a .317 pace. LaGrange racked up three kills in four attempts in the fifth set alone.

Junior right side hitter Emily Meyer also had a big match, especially in the fifth set where she racked up three kills in three swings. Meyer finished with 10 kills and a .450 attacking percentage.

USI also got 24 digs from sophomore libero Kayla Heldman and 10 digs from senior defensive specialist Krista Coccaro.

The Eagles wrap up their three-match GLVC road trip Tuesday 7 p.m. when they travel to Owensboro, Kentucky, to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College. USI opens its home schedule Friday when it hosts Bellarmine University at the Physical Activities Center.
