EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team's Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader with Kentucky Wesleyan College has been moved to Thursday at 5 p.m. at the USI Softball Field due to the heavy rains in the tri-state area.
Entering the final week of the regular season, only two teams have clinched a spot in the eight-team GLVC Tournament, which is May 6-8 in East Peoria, Illinois. USI, which hosts Rockhurst University Saturday at noon and Quincy University for Senior Day Sunday at noon, enters the final six games of the regular season in a tie for the eighth in the GLVC standings.
The Screaming Eagles (19-19, 8-12 GLVC) are currently tied with Rockhurst (17-25, 8-12 GLVC) and are percentage points ahead of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (12-26, 7-11 GLVC) in the latest standings. USI trails seventh-place Drury University (24-24, 11-11 GLVC) and sixth-place Quincy (24-13, 13-7 GLVC).
Kentucky Wesleyan (15-22, 6-14 GLVC) still has hopes of qualifying for the GLVC Tournament as it hosts Quincy and the University of Illinois Springfield this weekend.
