INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The No. 6 University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team improved to 9-0 away from the Physical Activities Center this season with a 90-70 road win over the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division contest Thursday night.

Despite senior guard Kevin Gant and senior center Mohamed Ntumba sitting on the bench early in the second half with foul trouble, the Screaming Eagles used a 19-5 run that lasted nearly six minutes of the second half to build a 71-51 advantage with 10 minutes to play in the game.

Junior guard Brandon Hogg and freshman guard Eduardo Gallina combined for 17 points during the run that gave the Screaming Eagles a commanding 20-point advantage.

The Eagles' bench played a major role in the victory as USI's reserves outscored the host Greyhounds' reserves 32-7. Senior guard Jared Rehmel came off the bench to score 11 points, while Gallina and freshman forward Taylor Wischmeier contributed eight and six points, respectively, off the bench.

Senior guard #C.J. Trotter# scored 13 of his game-high 24 points in the opening period, helping the Eagles jump out to a 42-36 advantage at the break. Trotter was one of four Eagles to reach double figures Thursday night, with Hogg adding 13 points and Ntumba chipping in 10 points. Hogg also had a game-high seven rebounds and eight assists.

As a team, the Eagles shot 58.3 percent from the floor in the second half and 49.1 percent for the game. USI also had a 39-31 rebounding advantage while committing just six turnovers in the second period.

The Eagles, who are 7-0 in road games and 2-0 in neutral site games this season, return to action Monday when they visit arch-rival Kentucky Wesleyan College. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
