EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The sixth-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team is set for another tough stretch of the season when it plays three games in five days, beginning with Drury University Thursday at 7:30 p.m. USI follows Thursday's action on Saturday with a quick tip to Quincy University for a 3:15 p.m. contest before returning home Monday to host 18th-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan College for a 7:30 p.m. tip off.

The Screaming Eagles (13-1, 4-1 GLVC) are in the middle of a season-best eight-game winning streak after taking three conference games last week. USI started on the road with a 78-61 win at the University of Illinois-Springfield, before returning the Physical Activities Center to defeat Maryville University, 76-50, and Missouri University of Science & Technology, 76-56.
During the winning streak and for the season, senior guard
C.J. Trotter (Hopkinsville, Kentucky) continues to lead the way for the Eagles. Trotter is averaging a team-best 14.6 points per game, 13.4 in the winning streak.
Senior center
Mohamed Ntumba (Kinshasa, Congo) follows Trotter in the scoring column with 12.4 points per contest in 2010-11, while grabbing a team-best 8.4 rebounds per outing. He also leads the team and the GLVC in rebounding, offensive rebounds, and blocked shots.
Ntumba has been a force during the winning streaking, recording four double-doubles. He is dropping in 11.5 points and grabbing 8.8 rebounds per game in the Eagles' last eight wins.
The Panthers of Drury (9-4, 2-3 GLVC) come to Evansville in the midst of a three-game losing streak after losing to Bellarmine University, 85-75, and KWC, 77-69, last week. Sophomore guard Alex Hall leads the Panthers and ranks fourth in the GLVC with 19.9 points per game.
USI leads the all-time series with Drury, 6-4, but the teams are tied 2-2 at the PAC since 2000. The Eagles took the only meeting last year, 83-72, in Springfield, Missouri.
The Hawks of Quincy (9-4, 2-3 GLVC), who host the University of Parkside on Thursday, also were winless last week with a home loss to the University of Indianapolis, 81-72, and a road loss to Lewis University, 64-59. Junior guard Tyler Thompson leads the Hawks with 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
The Eagles lead the all-time series with the Hawks, 25-9, and hold a slim 5-4 advantage at Quincy's Pepsi Arena. USI took the only meeting last year, 79-71, at the Physical Activities Center.
The Panthers and the Eagles resume their storied series Monday after KWC hosts Rockhurst University on Thursday and travels to Illinois-Springfield Saturday. KWC has won five of its last six games and are led by junior center Anthony Young, who leads the team and ranks third in the GLVC with 21.2 points per contest.
The Panthers lead the all-time series, 46-35, but the Eagles have won nine of the last 12 meetings. The team split the season series last year, each winning on the other's home court.
Monday's match-up also will be the 26
th time both teams will be ranked in the top 25. KWC leads 18-7 in match-ups of ranked teams.
