Lewis (17-11) earned the right to play the Eagles Sunday by defeating Missouri University of Science & Technology, 69-62, in the first round Saturday afternoon at the PAC. The Flyers shot 50 percent (24-48) from the field and held a 34-22 advantage on the glass as they defeated the Miners for the second time this season.
Four players finished in double figures for the Flyers, who are the second seed from the GLVC North Division. Junior guard Kady Currin led the Flyers with 14 points, while first-team All-GLVC forward Jenny Turpel finished with 12 points and a game-high tying seven rebounds.
Missouri S&T (14-14), the second seed from the GLVC West Division, got a game-high 16 points from senior guard Jazmine Bell.
Lewis defeated the Eagles (22-7), 60-51, earlier this season in Romeoville, Illinois. The winner of the Lewis-USI game will meet the winner of the Drury University/Quincy University contest in the GLVC semifinals, which are March 6 in Springfield, Illinois.
