ROLLA, Mo.—
The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team rallied from an early four-point deficit in the final frame to defeat host Missouri University of Science & Technology 26-24, 25-14, 25-21 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest Friday night.

USI (14-10, 7-4 GLVC) trailed 13-9 midway through the final set, but a 5-0 run gave the Screaming Eagles a one-point advantage and swung momentum back into their favor. The Eagles pushed points later in the frame, turning a slim 16-15 advantage into a commanding 22-17 lead before settling on the four-point win.

Junior middle blocker Danielle LaGrange had six of her team-high 12 kills to lead the Eagles in the third set. LaGrange, who added four blocks, attacked at a blistering .545 pace in the final frame to help the Eagles complete the sweep.

Early in the match, it was senior right side hitter Katie Knott who played a big role for the Eagles. Knott had back-to-back kills during a 5-0 spurt that turned a 20-17 lead into a two-point lead late in the opening set.

Knott, who also finished with four blocks, had four of her seven kills and racked up a blistering .667 attacking percentage in the first frame as the Eagles gained a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Eagles used a 12-1 rally to break an 11-11 tie in the second set and take a commanding 23-12 advantage. LaGrange had four kills in the second set as the Eagles extend their match lead to 2-0.

In addition to LaGrange, senior outside hitter Brittani Oliver finished with 11 kills and a nine digs, while freshman setter Jorae Bradbury finished with 33 assists and eight digs. Oliver also had six kills and a .417 attacking percentage in the third stanza, while Bradbury led the Eagles' offense to a .324 attacking percentage, including a .395 clip in the final set.

Defensively, the Eagles were led by freshman libero Kayla Heldman, who had a match-high 14 digs, and freshman middle blocker Emily Diedrich, who finished with a match-high five blocks. USI finished with 10.0 team blocks and held the Miners to a .123 attacking percentage.

The Eagles conclude their regular-season road schedule Saturday at 3 p.m. when they visit No. 20 University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Tritons (19-4, 10-1 GLVC), who are fourth in the latest NCAA II Midwest Region rankings, defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College in three sets Friday night in St. Louis.
