ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The 8th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team overwhelmed Maryville University, 153-88, Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, Missouri. USI reaches 15-0 overall and 6-0 in the GLVC, while Maryville falls to 2-12, 0-5 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles set six team records, including points in a game (153), points in half (84), assists (38), three-point field goals made (23), three-point field goals attempted (45), and field goals attempted (106). The Eagles also fell one field goal made and one player scoring in double figures short tying two more school records.

USI also is one win short of tying the best start in school history (16-0 in 2000-01), and two victories away from tying the longest winning streak in program history (17 in 2004-05).

The Eagles trailed only once and were tied twice in their first visit to Maryville, but by the first media timeout they had a controlling lead of 27-14. USI would continue to pile up the points in the opening half and led 69-40 at the intermission. The second half saw the Eagles hit the gas as they outscored the Saints, 84-48.
