OMAHA, Neb.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team fell to Minnesota State University Moorhead 25-18, 25-11, 25-18 at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Volleyball Classic Saturday morning. The Screaming Eagles fall below the .500 mark for the first time this season with the loss, while the Dragons of MSU Moorhead improve to 10-2.

MSU Moorhead used runs of 7-1 and 10-2 to out-distance the Eagles in the opening set; then benefitted from a 6-0 run to open the second frame en route to a 2-0 lead the match.

The Eagles (5-6) opened an early 10-6 lead in the third frame, but the Dragons battled back to tie the game at 13-13 before using a 13-3 run later in the stanza to end the set and any chance of a USI comeback.

Junior outside hitter Brittani Oliver led the Eagles with eight kills and nine digs, while senior outside hitter Courtney Bealor and sophomore libero Krista Coccaro each had nine digs.

USI concludes the UNO Volleyball Classic when it takes on Angelo State University later today. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
