EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team reached the 20-win plateau for the 16th time in 17 seasons with an 85-64 victory over Quincy University Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI won its fifth in a row in raising its record to 20-4 overall and 9-2 in the GLVC, while Quincy fell to 12-9 overall, 5-6 GLVC.

A close contest through the first 15 minutes of the game, the Screaming Eagles took control with 23-2 run at the end of the first half and the start of the second half. USI ended the first stanza with 13-2 run to lead 41-27 at the intermission and started the second half with a 10-0 spurt to extend the margin to 51-27

The Eagles were led during the runs by junior guard Marvin Gray (Freeport, Bahamas) and senior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York), who combined to score 18 of the 23 points during the rally. Gray, who had 10 points during the run, ended the night with a game-high 21 points.

Pimble, who followed Gray in the scoring column with 14 points in the game, had eight points during the run with six coming from long range.

USI junior forward Tyrone Bradshaw (Cincinnati, Ohio) rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Eagles with 12 points off the bench. The double-digit point total was the second straight for Bradshaw and the third time in four games for the junior.

As a team, the Eagles had the hot hands from the field. USI shot 61.8 percent from the field (34-55), hitting 66.7 percent in the second half (16-24).

The Eagles conclude the short two-game homestand Saturday when they host Drury University for Homecoming. Drury lost 93-82 at Rockhurst University tonight and saw its record to 12-9 overall and 5-6 in the GLVC. The Panthers also will come to the PAC with a five-game losing streak.
