EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team gave up a goal in the 54th minute of regulation as Rockhurst University defeated the Screaming Eagles, 1-0, Friday evening at Strassweg Field.

Senior goalkeeper Andrew Haley (Wentzville, Missouri) turned away six Rockhurst shots-on-goal in the opening period as the two squads played to a scoreless tie throughout the first 45 minutes of the contest.

Haley, who finished the match with 12 saves, did a solid job all night for the Screaming Eagles, but the Hawks slipped a ricocheted shot into the net off a direct kick by senior defender Charlie Reitz to take the lead. Senior forward Grant Landon was credited with the goal after the ball grazed off his leg and into the net.

USI (2-5-0, 1-3-0 GLVC) returns to action Sunday at noon when it hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
