Southern Indiana 76, Missouri S&T 55
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team stayed alive in its hunt for a berth in the GLVC Tournament with a 76-55 victory over Missouri University of Science and Technology Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI raises its record to 14-12 overall and 8-10 in the GLVC, while Missouri S&T finishes the year 3-24 overall, 0-19 GLVC.
With one game remaining in the 2007-08 regular season, two things have to happen on Saturday for the Screaming Eagles to secure a berth in the conference tournament. USI must defeat the University of Missouri-St. Louis at the PAC and Quincy University, who defeated Rockhurst University tonight, must lose at home to seventh-ranked Drury University.
A 25-2 run in the final eight minutes of the first half propelled the Eagles to the 21 point victory Thursday night. USI, which led 42-23 at the intermission, extended the margin to as many as 36 points on two occasions in the second half.

Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio), who had his 12th double-double of a year by halftime. Plummer finished the game with a team-best 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Eagles host the season finale against UMSL on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. UMSL, which was idle Thursday night, is 10-16 overall and 5-13 GLVC after defeating Missouri S&T on Tuesday evening.
The USI-UMSL match-up on Saturday also is Senior Day for the Eagles, who will honor Plummer and senior guardÂ
