EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team climbed back to the .500 mark in the GLVC with a 95-81 victory over Rockhurst University Thursday evening at the Physical Activities Center. USI raises its record to 13-9 overall and 7-7 in the GLVC, while Rockhurst falls to 8-15 overall, 4-11 GLVC.

In addition to getting back to the .500 mark in the league for the first time since the middle of January, the Screaming Eagles broke a five-game losing streak on Thursdays and a six-game losing streak in evening games.

The key to USI's success against Rockhurst was senior forward Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio), who dropped in a game-high 29 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Plummer scored his 29 points, which was one point away from a season-high, on 13-of-15 from the field and three-of-five from the line.

USI junior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) followed Plummer in the scoring column with 15 points, while senior guard Tyson Schnitker (Robinson, Illinois) and junior forward Dexter Powell (Rome, Georgia) dropped in 15 points each. Schnitker also tied a season-best with six assists.

The Eagles had their best shooting night in 16 games as a team, hitting 67.8 percent from the field (40-59). They knocked in a blistering 85.2 percent of their shots in the second half (23-27). The 95 points was a season-high for the Eagles.

USI trailed just one once in the game (8-7 with 15:38 left in the first half) and led by as many as 26 points. The Eagles had the lead at the intermission, 40-25, and outscored the Hawks in the second half, 55-46.

The four-game USI homestand comes to a conclusion Saturday afternoon when it hosts ninth-ranked Drury University for a 3:15 p.m. contest. Drury, which is 19-3 and 12-2 in the GLVC, was idle Thursday evening.
