EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team was out lasted by ninth-ranked Drury University, 70-68, Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center. USI falls to 13-10 overall and 7-8 in the GLVC, while Drury goes to 20-3 overall, 13-2 GLVC.

The Screaming Eagles led the game for the first 30 minutes, posting a 31-26 lead at the intermission and a 35-26 lead in the opening minutes of the second half. USI held onto the lead until 9:41 remaining in the game when Drury took a 49-48 lead during a 13-4 run.

Drury took the lead for good at 53-51 with 8:05 remaining and inched the margin out to seven points, 65-58, with 39 seconds to play. The seven point lead was the largest of the game for the Panthers.

USI had several chances in the final few minutes to regain control of the game, but could not convert.

The Eagles were led by senior forward Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio), who had his ninth double-double of the year with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Plummer continued to have the hot hand this week, converting seven-of-nine (.779) from the field against Drury and 20-of-24 (.833) for the week.

USI junior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) followed Plummer in the scoring column with 10 points.

Next week, the Eagles go on the road for the final time in 2007-08 regular season when they play at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on February 21 and at Quincy University on February 23. USI's final regular season homestand is February 28 and March 1 when Missouri University of Science and Technology and the University of Missouri-St. Louis visit the PAC.
