EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team wraps up its 2008 home schedule this weekend as it hosts Quincy University Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. The Screaming Eagles will honor senior middle blocker Meg Buschman (Reynolds, Indiana) as part of their Senior Day festivities prior to Saturday's match.

USI (13-13, 6-7 GLVC) finds itself in a battle for third place in the GLVC West Division as it heads into the final two weeks of the season.

The Eagles, who are tied with Drury University for the third in Division, can clinch a spot in the GLVC Tournament with a pair of wins this weekend and a Saint Joseph's College loss. The GLVC Tournament takes the top three teams in each division, plus two wild cards.

USI, which is 7-5 in its last 12 matches, has been getting more production out of its outside hitters—junior Courtney Bealor (LaPorte, Indiana) and sophomore Brittani Oliver (Indianapolis, Indiana). The duo have averaged close to six kills per set in the last 12 matches after averaging less than five kills per set in the Eagles' first 14 contests.

The Eagles also are attacking at a .212 clip in the last 12 matches compared to a .158 clip in the first 14 matches.

Junior setter Melanie Pund (Ferdinand, Indiana) has played a major factor in the Eagles' offensive resurgence. Pund is averaging 9.70 assists per set in the last 12 matches compared to 8.44 assists per set in USI's first 14 contests.

For the season, Oliver is leading the Eagles with 2.74 kills per set, while Buschman leads USI with 1.03 blocks per game and a .264 attacking percentage. Sophomore libero Janae Curnutt (Arcadia, Indiana), who had a career-high 28 digs against Rockhurst University last Friday, leads USI with 4.15 digs per set.

Quincy (12-16, 4-9 GLVC) is looking to keep its GLVC Tournament hopes alive when it visits the Physical Activities Center this weekend. The Lady Hawks have won four of their last seven matches after a four-match losing streak dropped their overall record to 8-13.

Junior middle blocker Katie Ebbing leads the Lady Hawks with 3.17 kills per set and a .339 attacking percentage.

Following USI's tilts with Quincy, the Eagles wrap up the regular-season with visits to Missouri University of Science & Technology (November 7) and the GLVC West Division-leading University of Missouri-St. Louis (November 8).
