EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Despite getting off 17 shots, nine of which were on goal, the University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team could not find the back of the net Sunday as it fell to Saint Joseph's College, 2-0, at Strassweg Field.

Saint Joseph's (5-9-3, 2-6-2 GLVC) broke a scoreless tie in the 56th minute of the game when sophomore forward Bojan Alder used a pass from sophomore midfielder Tyler Kincaid to sneak the ball past USI senior goalkeeper Andrew Haley (Wentzville, Missouri).

Haley, who had eight saves in the contest, was the victim of a Saint Joseph's break-away 13 minutes later as Kincaid sailed a shot over his reaching hands and into the back of the net for the Pumas' second score of the contest.

The Screaming Eagles (6-9-0, 3-7-0 GLVC), who honored their four seniors—Haley, forward/midfielder Mike Bendzen (Evansville, Indiana), defender Dan Grunewald (Munster, Indiana), and defender/midfielder Tyree Robinson (Jefferson City, Missouri)—prior to the match, had good scoring opportunities throughout the contest but could not convert as Saint Joseph's sophomore goalie Alex Makin stopped all nine of USI's shots on goal to pick up the victory.

USI, which is still mathematically alive for a spot in the GLVC Tournament, concludes its GLVC slate next weekend when it heads north to take on the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis University. The Eagles match with UW-Parkside is Friday at 1:15 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin, while their match with Lewis is Sunday at noon in Romeoville, Illinois.

The Eagles conclude the regular season October 29 when they host Harris-Stowe State University.
