SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team was shut out by Drury University, 2-0, Friday evening in Springfield, Missouri. USI falls to 4-6-1 overall and 2-4-0 in the GLVC, while Drury raises its record to 9-3-0, 5-3-0 GLVC.
The Panthers got the only goal they would need in the first half when sophomore midfielder Andrew Bordelon scored at the 15:02 mark. Drury would seal the victory when freshman midfielder Taylor Stacy headed in the second goal at 65:57.
USI was out shot in the match, 11-6, and trailed 6-2 in shots-on-goal. Neither team had an advantage in corner kicks with two for each team.
The Screaming Eagles attempt to finish the three-game road swing with a victory when they play at Rockhurst University Sunday at 3:30 p.m. USI returns to the friendly surroundings of Strassweg Field October 5 when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
