ROMEOVILLE, Ill.—The University of Southern Indiana volleyball team rallied from a pair of one-game deficits to defeat Saint Cloud State University 26-30, 30-19, 24-30, 30-28, 15-12 Saturday at the Lewis University Flyer Festival.

Sophomore right side hitter/setter Kathi Hindman (Carmel, Indiana) recorded a match and career-high 21 kills and a .438 attacking percentage, while junior libero Amber Gogel (Ferdinand, Indiana) recorded a career-high and school-record-tying 33 digs to aid the Screaming Eagles' effort.

The Eagles (4-2) found themselves trailing 24-20 in game four despite jumping out to a 6-0 lead early in the set. USI fought back to tie the fourth frame at 25 and pushed two straight points to gain a 29-27 lead. Hindman's 18th kill of the match gave the Eagles the 30-28 victory and evened the contest at two games each.

USI trailed by three early in the fifth and deciding game, but came back to gain an 8-6 lead. After falling behind by a point, the Eagles rallied for five straight tallies to gain a 14-10 lead and the eventual 15-12 victory.

Offensively, the Eagles had five players finish with double-digit kill totals. Junior middle blocker Meg Buschman (Reynolds, Indiana) had 17 kills and four blocks, while senior middle blocker Molly Rahman (Ferdinand, Indiana) finished with 13 kills, a .522 attacking percentage, and a match-high six blocks.

Freshman outside hitter Brittani Oliver (Indianapolis, Indiana) and sophomore outside hitter Courtney Bealor (LaPorte, Indiana) finished with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, while sophomore right side hitter/setter Melanie Pund (Ferdinand, Indiana) finished with a match-high 64 assists.

Defensively, the Eagles had four players with at least 10 or more digs. Bealor had 19, while Pund and sophomore defensive specialist Julia Ridley (Maddisonville, Kentucky) finished with 15 and 18 digs, respectively.

The Eagles return to action later today when they take on Winona State University at 4:30 p.m.
