EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana softball team plays No. 13-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in a GLVC doubleheader Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Edwardsville, Illinois. The game was originally scheduled at 2 p.m., but due to the threat of rain Tuesday evening, it has been moved to 1 p.m.
USI (19-15, 6-6 GLVC) has won four of its last five games, while the Cougars (28-7, 10-4 GLVC) have won their last four games.
Last season, the Screaming Eagles were 2-1 against the Cougars, winning both games in the regular-season doubleheader in Evansville, before falling in the elimination bracket of the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Edwardsville.
The Eagles trail the series with SIUE, 9-14, since 2000, but have won five of the last nine against the Cougars since 2005.
Following their doubleheader against SIUE, the Eagles travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to take part in the X-Trem Graphics Classic Friday and Saturday. USI takes on host North Georgia College & State University Friday at 2 p.m. before playing Lander University at 6 p.m. The Eagles play the University of South Carolina-Aiken and Lander Saturday at Noon and 4 p.m., respectively.
