USI (5-3) used three straight bunts to get its four-run fifth inning started. Sophomore outfielderÂ

Senior rightfielderÂ
Hunter Slade (Newburgh, Indiana) singled in the next at-bat to score Werry and give the Screaming Eagles a 5-4 lead and an advantage they would not relinquish. Slade was 4-of-5 in the game with three RBIs, while Werry was 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBIs.
Junior first basemanÂ
Matt Pleiss (Newburgh, Indiana) also had a double and a pair of RBIs, while junior catcherÂ
Garrett Oros (Aurora, Illinois) drove in a run.
Senior hurlerÂ
Adam Vetter (Crown Point, Indiana) picked up the victory to improve to 2-0 on the season after giving up four runs off five hits in five innings of work. Fellow classmateÂ
Aaron Clark (Madisonville, Kentucky) blanked the Oilers, who fell to 2-1 with the loss, in four innings of relief to record his first save of the season. Clark gave up four walks while not allowing a hit.
The three-game series between USI and Findlay resumes Monday with a doubleheader at the USI Baseball Field. First pitch is slated for noon.
