KISSIMMEE, Fla.— The University of Southern Indiana softball team finished the Division II Rebel Spring Games with a split Saturday.

USI (11-9) fell to Wayne State University (Mich.), 7-2, before defeating the University of Minnesota-Duluth, 4-1.

Senior second baseman Audra Lindenschmidt (Evansville, Indiana) had a two-run single in the win over UM-Duluth, while junior infielder/outfielder Kirsten Morgan (Oakland City, Indiana) had a RBI single in the second inning. Sophomore shortstop Ally McKinley (Sullivan, Indiana) and senior first baseman Jennifer Mullikin (Greenwood, Indiana) each had RBIs in the loss to Wayne State.

Junior third baseman/pitcher Kristin Eickholt (Van Wert, Ohio) picked up her first career victory against UM-Duluth, while fellow classmate Amy Harrison (Graceville, Florida) took the loss against Wayne State.

The Screaming Eagles return to action Wednesday when they travel to Oakland City, Indiana, to take on Oakland City University in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.

Wayne State (4-2) 7, Southern Indiana 2
Wayne State jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first three innings and never looked back as it defeated the Eagles for the second time this season.

USI scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning, but it was not enough as the Warriors prevailed, 7-2.

Harrison (6-3) saw her five-game winning streak come to a halt Saturday as she gave up five runs off six hits in three innings of work. Freshman Kambria Current (Indianapolis, Indiana) came in at the start of the fourth inning and gave up two unearned runs off four hits in four innings of action.

McKinley and Mullikin each had an RBI in the sixth to lead the Eagles, offensively.

Southern Indiana 4, Minnesota-Duluth 1
The Eagles scored four times in the top of the first and second innings to give Eickholt (1-1) more than enough run support to earn her first collegiate victory inside the pitching circle.

Eickholt scattered five hits throughout seven innings while giving up just one run in the first inning as the Eagles cruised to the 4-1 victory over Minnesota-Duluth.

Lindenschmidt had a two-out, two-run single in the first inning to put the Eagles on the board, while Morgan had an RBI single before coming around to score the Eagles' fourth run in the second inning.

Eickholt also helped herself from the plate by going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, while Mullikin went 2-for-3 with a double. Sophomore rightfielder Lacey Ligmanowski (Homer Glen, Illinois) also was 2-of-4 with a double and a run scored.
