EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana women's basketball senior guard
Katie Thiesenhusen (Muskego, Wisconsin) was named honorable mention All-GLVC in a vote by the league's coaches.
Thiesenhusen helped lead the Screaming Eagles to a 16-11 overall record and a 10-9 mark in the GLVC in 2006-07. She led the Eagles with 14.3 points and 2.5 assists per game and was third on the team with 5.0 rebounds per game.
In USI's last nine games, Thiesenhusen averaged 16.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. She posted 10 or more points in 20 games this season, including three games with at least 20 points. She also recorded a pair of double-doubles and scored a career-high 30 points in USI's 90-61 victory over Rockhurst University in January.
This marks the first time Thiesenhusen has found herself on the All-GLVC team and the 17th consecutive year the Eagles have had a player selected to the All-Conference squad.
USI, which is the fourth seed in the GLVC West Division, plays No. 9-ranked Lewis University, the top seed in the East Division, Friday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the GLVC Tournament at Roberts Stadium.
Lewis finished the regular season with a 24-3 record, 17-2 in the GLVC, and features the GLVC's Player and Coach of the Year in senior forward Darcee Schmidt and fifth-year Head Coach Lynn Plett.
