EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team cruised to an 87-49 victory over Tiffin University Saturday night at the Physical Activities Center. USI raises its record to 5-2 overall and has won three in a row, while Tiffin falls to 1-9 in 2007-08.

After the game was tied 2-2 in the opening minute, the Screaming Eagles took the lead for good and never looked back. USI steadily built a commanding margin during the first half, leading by as many as 24 points and led by 23 at the intermission, 52-29.

In the second half, the Eagles continued to add to its lead by doing the job on defense. USI limited Tiffin to just 20 points in the final half and led by as many as 39 points, 82-43, with 3:44 to play.

As a team, USI shot 56.9 percent from the field (29-51) and forced 21 Tiffin turnovers. Those 21 Dragon turnovers resulted in 23 Eagle points.

Individually, USI was led for the sixth time in seven games by senior forward Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio). Plummer dropped in a game-high 19 points, hitting seven-of-11 from the field and five-of-eight from the charity stripe. He also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

USI sophomore guard Darren Cloud (Evansville, Indiana) followed Plummer in the scoring column with 14 points, while junior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) and senior guard Tyson Schnitker (Robinson, Illinois) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 points and 10 point, respectively. Schnitker also led the team with five assists, while Pimble recorded a team-high three steals.

USI freshman forward Nick Duncheon (Montgomery, Indiana) missed scoring in double-digits by one point, but still dropped in a season-high nine points by going three-for-three from beyond the three-point arc.

The Eagles resume the four-game homestand Wednesday when they host Ferris State University at 7:30 p.m. USI will conclude the 2007 calendar year and the homestand December 30 by hosting Michigan Tech University for 3 p.m. contest.
