FORSYTH, Ill.—The No. 24 University of Southern Indiana women's cross country team recorded a perfect score of 15 points en route to a first-place finish, out of five teams, at the Millikin Fast Times Challenge Friday evening.
The Screaming Eagles had seven top seven finishers as they finished 39 points ahead of second-place Illinois Wesleyan University.
Sophomore
Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Indiana) paced the Eagles with her first-place finish and 6k time of 22 minutes, 39.38 seconds. Junior
Marcia Weflen (Rossville, Indiana) was second with a 6k time of 23 minutes, 35.80 seconds, while sophomore
Sarah Whiteman (Bloomington, Indiana) placed third with a 6k time of 24 minutes, 4.59 seconds.
Sophomores
Lacy Williams (Haubstadt, Indiana) and
Sarah Baysden (Shelbyville, Indiana) finished fourth and fifth, respectively to round out the top five.
The Eagles return to action October 20 when they compete at the GLVC Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
