INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The No. 19 University of Southern Indiana women's cross country team finished second at the GLVC Championships Saturday morning.
USI scored 75 points, 29 behind first-place University of Wisconsin-Parkside, as it finished second for the fourth straight season.
Sophomore
Mary Ballinger (Chesterton, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with a fourth-place finish after crossing the finish line with a 6k time of 22 minutes, 1.44 seconds. Ballinger, who was less than 25 seconds off the winning pace, earned All-GLVC honors with her performance.
Overall, the Eagles had four runners in the top 20, including sophomore
Sarah Whiteman (Bloomington, Indiana), who finished 11th with a time of 23 minutes, 7.23 seconds.
The Eagles return to action in two weeks when they compete at the NCAA II Great Lakes Region Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois.
